Description:

Sage Green is an 18 home net zero energy development in Beaverton, Oregon. The development features two different single-family 3 bedroom units that have 3 different levels, complete with a garage at the base of each unit’s long and thin volume. The project uses a hybrid electric-gas net zero energy concept to reach its energy efficiency goals, along with a high performance envelope, high efficiency HVAC systems, and a rooftop photovoltaic array. The homes also use recycled and locally-sourced materials for construction and low/no VOC paints, adhesives and interior finishes. The development’s objective is to demonstrate that zero net energy is possible, affordable, and accessible for mainstream builders and buyers. After recently completing phase one of its three phase plan, the five finished houses are actually priced in the “median” market range for the area at around $260,000.
