Energy Efficiency Technical Assistance in New Construction or Major Renovations
The IDL offers several forms of technical assistance to help your projects achieve the highest levels of energy savings while also ensuring comfortable and productive work environments. We have multiple active research projects that compliment our technical assistance work. Some of the services available include energy charrette development, weather and microclimate analysis, building performance simulation (energy, daylight, lighting, airflow etc), operational measurement and verification, post-occupancy comfort evaluation etc. These services are usually integrated as part of an external A/E/C and operational delivery team that an owner establishes. Please contact Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg or Gunnar Gladics to discuss your project and determine what level of design assistance support might be available. For most cases commercial buildings in ID, MT, OR and WA require at least a 40% cost share. Services provided to commercial buildings outside of WA, OR, ID, MT are available at negotiated rates. These services are also available to residential projects at negotiated rates. The UI-IDL does not compete with private sector firms and any project where the IDL is engaged has a research and/or teaching component.
