Description:
Designing high performance buildings requires an integrated design process. Design teams are looking for building performance analysis to inform the ever evolving design and time is critical in this process. This session will highlight analysis tools that work seamlessly with design tools allowing for timely analysis results. Case studies will also be shared to demonstrate how these tools were applied in the design process.
Bio:
Justin Shultz
Justin Shultz received a B.S. in Energy Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University with Minors in Environmental Engineering and Energy Business and Finance. He received a PhD from the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). His PhD research focused on promoting the use of future energy technology in the design of energy efficient building by integrating new modeling strategies for dynamic building envelopes into current practice energy modeling methods. He currently works for EYP Architecture and Engineering as a Building Performance Analyst in the High Performance Design group. He works with architecture and engineering design teams through an integrated design process where he provides performance based recommendations through quantified metrics from climate analysis, building energy modeling, and daylighting simulation.
