Meter Data Analysis

Drop in an Idaho Power hourly export and read your building's electrical load — a full year of demand on one screen, the typical day, the peaks you pay for, and energy by month.

Preview of the load heatmap — each cell is one hour. The dark midday band is occupied hours; the pale columns are weekends.

Idaho Power delivers interval data as a grid: one row per day, one column per hour. That's hard to read and slow to chart. This tool reshapes it into a continuous hourly profile and draws the charts that actually describe a building — so you can spot occupancy patterns, seasonal shifts, and expensive demand peaks at the schematic stage, before detailed simulation.

What you get

Annual load heatmap

Every hour of the year in one view. Occupancy, weekends, seasons, and outages read at a glance.

Daily load profile

The building's typical day, with weekday-vs-weekend and by-season overlays and a full hourly range band.

Load duration curve

Hours sorted highest to lowest — see how peaky the load is and the base load that never goes away.

Energy & export

Monthly and daily energy charts, key metrics, and clean hourly / daily / monthly CSV to download.

How to use it

1

Get your data

Ask your Idaho Power representative for the hourly interval export — the day-by-hour grid.

2

Load it

Drop the file onto the tool or paste the table. The start date is detected automatically; correct it if needed.

3

Read the building

Charts render instantly. Hover for exact values, scrub through the year, and export the reshaped series.

Modernized from the IDL meter-analysis spreadsheet. Same calculations — but nothing to install, no slider that sticks, and the whole year renders at once. Don't have data handy? The tool ships with a sample office dataset so you can explore it right away.
